Twelve Days of Christmas

Yep – it’s that time of year again! Time for my Twelve Days of Christmas.  This is the third year – can you belive it? Now interestingly, I looked up exactly when the official Twelve  Days of Christmas are… and they are not until AFTER Christmas.  They actually begin Christmas Day. But since this is my blog, I’m doing the 12 days my way.

So… on the First Day of Christmas my true love gave to me…

A Conky Doll!

A “what” you might be asking? A Conky Doll.  It is actually something I gave to Matt as an early Christmas present.  Conky is a very annoying puppet that was showcased on Trailer Park Boys.  Now all my Canadian readers should know what I’m talking about – I’m not sure how far south this television show reached, but the show definitely had a following here in Canada. Trailer Park Boys was a tv show that focused on the wild adventures of a group of trailer park residents in Nova Scotia. They are always in trouble with the law, and have a tendency to drink and smoke (a variety of substances) a lot.  Believe me – the show was funny – in a redneck sort of way.

Anyhow, they had a Christmas special and a couple of weeks ago I was able to find it on DVD, and it came with a Conky finger puppet.  If you have not watched the TPB Christmas special (and you don’t mind rude humour), you can watch it here (as I warned, there is swearing – this is really for the 18+ crowd).  This Christmas Speical is something that we watch late on Christmas Eve each year – it always makes us laugh.

For the under 18 crowd, I just finished reading Alex a book called “A Porcupine in a Pine Tree“.  It is a play on the Twelve Days of Christmas… Canadian style.  Very cute read.
