Adoption Print

This past Valentines Day I bought a beautiful adoption print from a seller on etsy.  Etsy is a online store for people selling hand crafted items.

According to Chinese folklore, when a child is born they are connected by an invisible red thread to all who will care about them. As the child grows, the thread becomes shorter, drawing them ever closer to loved ones.

Although the picture is about Chinese folklore, I feel that it relates to all adoptions.  We have placed it on a wall in our bedroom to remind us that the thread is getting shorter every day.

You can buy one too if you are interested…

  1. HI Krista,

Have you heard the quote that goes with that beautiful picture “An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.” I’ve never seen the picture before, I’ll be looking into that!

  2. Great find! I love the picture – I actually tried to just purchase my own copy but unfortunately it looks like they are sold out as of last december and the artist appears to be on hiatus …. 😦
